JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the planning, coordinating, managing and directing of designated service areas.

Ensures that all agency policy and procedures and professional standards of care are followed to ensure the well-being of staff and clients. Provide administrative and clinical supervision of the staff that are part of the designated teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. ADMINISTRATIVE:
    • Authorizes expenditures within limit outlined in Policies and Procedures manual.
    • Plans and organizes staff coverage under his/her director supervision
    • Authorizes and schedules vacation/flex/overtime requests.
    • Attends management meetings and participates in the agency planning and decision making processes.
    • Provides statistical information and data for fund requirements.
  1. PROGRAMS AND SERVICES:
    • Provides support, direction, consultation, guidance, training to staff, students and volunteers in designated Service areas.
    • Responds to concerns of public/clients regarding staff or programs.
    • Ensures that records are maintained as per the Policy and Procedures manual.
    • Ensure that Services meet the needs of children and families.
    • Ensures that case review and monitoring meet service standards.
    • Coordinates ongoing evaluation activities and writes reports.
    • Provides direct service to clients for a maximum of 10% of time.
    • On call if scheduled to provide after-hours service to clients of the agency.
  1. COMMUNITY:
    • Responds to public education requests and delegates as needed.
    • Liaises with appropriate community agencies.
    • Represents and interprets the agency’s services with the community.
  2. HUMAN RESOURCES:
    • Manages employees in accordance with the Collective Agreement, HR policies and labor relations regulations.
    • Assists employees to work towards their work plans through coaching and mentoring.
    • Ensures that appropriate employee development and training programs are provided.
    • Consults the collective agreement as required to ensure appropriate terms and conditions are followed.
    • Works with employees to keep them informed through regular meetings.
    • Responsible for conducting performance appraisals, training and ongoing management of all employees.
  1. FINANCIAL:
    • Authorizes program related expenses, transportation and other expenditures.
    • Responsible for authorizing expenditures of staff supervised.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master’s degree in social work, membership in good standing with a regulated college.
  • Sound knowledge and training child/family mental health work, individual, group and family interventions, FIT, brief therapy, working in partnership with families.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to build a cohesive team that is dedicated to providing exemplary service to clients.
  • Travel will be required for this position, therefore the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance.
  • Satisfactory Criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening).
