Early Intervention Manager—SNAP Program

POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is seeking an experienced clinical Manager to provide supervision to a team of Coordinators and Family & Child Workers in our evidence-based SNAP® Program for children exhibiting serious behavior problems. Working within a scientist-practitioner framework, the successful candidate will have demonstrated competencies in supervising multi-modal, evidence-based clinical practice in community children’s mental health. Vital to the role is knowledge of Systems, Social Interactional Learning, Cognitive-Behavioural, Attachment, Theories in the context of group, family and individual counselling for issues that include emotional regulation, attachment, trauma, and parenting. Responsible to the Director, Clinical Services, the incumbent will participate in the Agency Leadership Team, Clinical Managers Group and Board Meetings as required, to manage with operational issues as well as participate in strategic vision and directions for the agency.
The successful candidate will ensure that the conceptualization and delivery of programs and services are consistent with the mission, values, policies, procedures, standards and priorities of the organization. The incumbent will provide vigorous leadership towards the achievement of clinical excellence and exemplary supervision. Under their direction, linkages to parents and program participants are forged that balance responsive, evidence-informed services with empowerment and mutual aid philosophies. With regard to the external environment, they ensure that the organization is well represented and appropriately positioned within the professional and other communities of interest by assuming leadership roles and by forging effective partnerships that produce identified objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accepts and works within the organization’s stated vision, mission, values and goals
• Provides direct supervision to a team of Coordinators and Family & Child Workers to ensure provision of quality services in accordance with sound management practices, the Collective Agreement and agency approach to supervision.
• Ensures that clinical practices are evidence-based, meet ethical and professional standards, are family- centered, and are congruent with the mission and direction of the agency.
• Works with the Director, Clinical Services to generate and monitor budgets, service planning and quality assurance.
• Participates in management process
• Ensures effective program development
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders
• Performs other assigned duties in the interests of the agency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• A Master’s Degree in Social Work
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with a professional college (e.g., College of Social Workers, Psychotherapy)
• Extensive clinical experience working with children, youth, families and groups, and familiarity with associated systems (schools, community agencies)
• Experience with evidence-informed therapy interventions
• Experience in managing staff including recruitment, training, evaluation and performance management
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and teamwork skills
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
