The Registered Nurse provides psychiatric and mental health nursing care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A highly skilled clinician responsible for providing psychiatric/mental health assessment, consultation, treatment recommendations/referrals, and education to all individuals presenting to the ER experiencing mental health crisis or problems.
The successful candidate requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the patient, the family and the interdisciplinary team. This position will be required to work in all areas of the Adult Inpatient Mental Health unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registration with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- 2-5 years experience in Mental Health & Addictions Nursing preferred
- Post diploma preparation, relevant to Psychiatric and Mental Health nursing preferred.
- BScN preferred
- Practices in accordance with Canadian Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, risk management and debriefing
- Basic Rescuer CPR
