Mental Health Recruitment is searching for a Full-time Psychologist to join Comprehensive Psychiatric Care (CPC) and the Assessment and Stabilization Unit (ASU).

Career Summary:

  • CPC is an intermediate care and rehabilitation in-patient program aimed at minimizing symptoms of chronic mental illness, improving quality of life and helping individuals reach their maximum level of functioning.
  • ASU is designed for individuals who have an unclear diagnosis, complex co-occurring conditions or for those who have not responded to previous treatment.
  • Provide intensive, independent psychiatric and functional evaluations, including evaluations of individuals with complex clinical presentations.
  • Collaboratively working on in-depth assessments to help establish and/or evaluate treatment plans.
  • Facilitation of psychoeducational/therapy groups with patients.
  • These programs are for a diverse population of individuals, carrying a wide set of diagnoses.

Requirements:

  • PhD. in Clinical Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited graduate program
  • Registered through the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Strong understanding of psychometric theory and testing in an inpatient environment
  • Strong understanding of CBT and DBT therapy modalities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective computer skills (ability to use computerized scoring systems)
  • Strong report writing skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skills and experience with mental health and personality scales (MMPI-2, PAI, MCMI-IV), validity/malingering assessments, structured diagnostic interviewing (SCID, CAPS) and standardized cognitive testing (WAIS-IV, RBANS, TOMM, WRAT)
  • Training in DBT and/or CBT modalities is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
