Our Client’s Clinic is looking for an occupational therapist to join their team. This group of motivated, caring professionals is committed to helping individuals and their families overcome the various physical and psychological challenges associated with injury, accidents, disability, and health conditions.

Their multi-disciplinary team consists of the following health specialties and areas of practice:
Psychotherapy, Neurology, Neuro-Science, Family Medicine, Kinesiology, School, Teaching,
Rehabilitation, and Clinical Psychology.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Occupational Therapist will work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.

Client populations include clients injured in motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, first responders as well as providing school-related assessments.

Providing in-home assessments, discharge planning assessments, functional cognitive assessments and catastrophic assessments in a community setting based on presenting impairment, disability, or handicap, using standardized assessment tools.

Formulating treatment plans using evidence-based information, relevant best practice guidelines and clinical expertise.

Actively engaging clients, families, and caregivers to address client-centered goals.

Linking clients/caregivers with appropriate community partners/services/agencies.

Evaluating and documenting the effectiveness of the intervention, client’s response, and progress toward goal attainment.

Completing clinical records according to college standards.

Communicating effectively with clients, families, and referral sources, including team members and office staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and in good standing (required).

Experience in working in a community setting is preferred, but we will consider new graduates.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all team members.

Superior analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail and report-writing skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
