RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clinical leadership in the development and administration of services for children and youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, using the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
- Provide clinical supervision to Clinical Supervisors, Behaviour Therapists and students/interns.
- Ensure autism client services are compliant with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
- Oversee the development and delivery of both individualized and group interventions.
- Provide leadership in OAP/Autism program development.
- Provide leadership in the development of service expansion options.
- Ensure staff training needs are met within the allotted budget.
- Maintain a client and family-centered approach to the development and provision of services.
- Actively participate in external (partnership-wide) management level meetings.
- Collaborate with agencies who are a part of Ontario Autism Program (OAP) partnership.
- Establish and support community partnerships and integration of Autism Programming.
- Participate in the rotating on call manager schedule for the agency.
- Participate/lead Interdisciplinary meetings.
- Budget management and reconciliation.
- Supporting oversite of the client information portal (opening and closing clients, reporting of client statistics, etc.)
- Resolve concerns from families related to their services.
- Actively participate in the implementation of client safety practices across the agency, identify and bring client safety issues up for senior management to review, and champion client safety initiatives, as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with the specific requirements of Section 27 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency’s policy and procedure documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A masters’ degree in Behaviour Analysis (or equivalent) from an accredited university.
- A Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst certification (BCBA or BCBA-D) in good standing.
Experience:
- At least two (2) years (3000 hours) of post-BCBA certification experience providing clinical supervision over ABA based programming.
- Extensive knowledge and training in the provision of interventions based on the science of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA).
- Extensive clinical experience working with children and youth with an autism spectrum disorder (specific experience with ages 7–18 required).
- Demonstrated strength in consultation, teaching, conflict resolution, team building, teamwork, completion of staff performance appraisals, hiring, and supervision of employees.
- Experience in both individual and group treatment modalities.
- Experience in budget management and reconciliation.
