Role Summary:

Clinical Manager reports to the Director of Programs and Services and is responsible for providing leadership and direction on strategies, planning, design, implementation, delivery and assessment of hosted services within the organization and across the service system.

Through strategic planning, people leadership and stakeholder engagement, and compliance of organizational standards, the role is responsible for allocation of resources and management of work outputs to deliver on organizational, strategic and operational objectives.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you are driven by the mission to continually improve mental health outcomes for children and families. You possess an astute ability to build strong relationships and partnerships that aid movement and build capacity within large organizations and systems.

Agency client needs are typically complex and require high service levels, which rely on building, maintaining and nurturing key stakeholder relationships within Child Welfare, Education and Hospital sectors in York Region. The role requires strong organizational and strategic skills as well as effective judgment, presentation, analytical, research and conflict management skills.

Leadership

Driven by a service focus, you bring demonstrated leadership (5 years or more of supervisory) experience enriched by an extensive clinical backgound (at least 5 years direct counselling with children, families), displaying a familiarity with a range of evidence informed  treatment modalities and approaches and experience with change management.

This role manages supervisors who in turn manage frontline staff (clinicians, child & youth workers, respite staff). The role is responsible for the successful delivery of outcomes and/or the delivery of organizational functional expertise to support successful program delivery.

Your leadership style is collaborative, responsive and adaptive, and you enjoy working closely with senior management, leaders and staff. You also possess a demonstrated understanding of cultural diversities and the ability to integrate a cross cultural practice and cultivate an anti-discriminatory environment.

This role will be part of a 9 member senior management team and 21 member leadership team and requires a clinician leader who thrives in inclusive, team based environments.

The role leads planning, development and delivery of clinical programs and services. This role influences system change in Child Welfare, Education and Hospital organizations on behalf of families and children, using a systemic, strategic approach.

This role, as part of senior management contributes to shaping the agency’s role in the sector’s transformation.

Position Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a field related to Social Work, Psychology or Counselling with membership in the appropriate professional organizations
  • 5-10 years’ recent, related, progressively responsible leadership experience
  • Valid Driver’s License, use of a vehicle and ability to travel to different centers during the week
  • Computer literacy, MS Word, Microsoft Outlook and client information systems
  • Vulnerability sector screening.
