Our client provides services that include trauma counselling, advocacy and support services during child abuse investigations, court support and abuse and violence prevention training. They are an independent non-profit organization that offers accreditation specifically tailored to community-based health and social services across Canada.
The Clinical Manager provides leadership through staff supervision and ensures clinical practices are competency-based, evidence-informed, collaborative, and culturally relevant. In addition, the Manager will be responsible for clinical oversight of the Assessment Directed Therapy Program and provide clinical consultation and mentorship to programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assume responsibility for the oversight and management of clinical services and ensure services align with best practices and current literature.
- Manage a group of clinical employees by providing supportive supervision, appropriate training and performance management, and case management/client support services.
- Oversee client service processes, including intake, waitlist management and assignment of clients
- Evaluate and review assessment and treatment plans, end of service summaries, incident reports and clients notes. Manage data systems and support CYSIS, including oversight of training and improvements.
- Recommend and implement program change processes through a lens of diversity, inclusion, and equity, utilizing best practices and research, service user feedback, appropriate evaluation processes, and strategic goals.
- Work collaboratively with the Leadership Team in developing clinical policy, high-quality service standards, and a quality assurance process.
- Work inclusively with internal programs to promote cross-team collaboration.
- Provide training and inclusive leadership for competency-based and evidence-informed best practices appropriate for diverse communities.
- Ensure that the organizations’ mission is consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders and the public.
- Work as part of the Joint Management Team to develop and coordinate clinical services to children, youth and families.
- Ensure that Ministry and funder reporting requirements and accreditation standards are met.
- Provide crisis or critical incident support, exercise judgment and initiative to ensure appropriate safety plans are arranged and assist leadership in communicating with appropriate ministries and other stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, M.A., Ph.D. or equivalent related education; previous training and/or experience in organizational and change management will be considered an asset.
- Registration with a professional governing body such as Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Services Workers (RSW), or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (RP), or the equivalent as determined by the President & CEO.
- Minimum of 8 (eight) years of related clinical experience with at least three (3) years held at a management level, experience in a children and youth mental health setting preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of influencing and executing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies, Anti-Oppressive Practice (AOP) and Anti- Black Racism (ABR) to affect organizational and program change.
- Experience incorporating equity-based practices in the delivery of treatment modalities and managing people. Ability to solicit staff feedback around DEI practices and implement recommendations.
- Clinical training and experience in Anti-Black Racism, Indigenous modalities of treatment and sensitivity to cultural, religious beliefs and gender identity that addresses the diversity of individuals and families served.
- Sound knowledge of trauma-focused evidence-informed/based practices, program evaluation methods and tools.
- Awareness of trauma and trauma-experiences (e.g. sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, race and gender-based trauma) that may be experienced by children, youth and families.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to lead and establish positive and collaborative partnerships and relations with all key stakeholders: clients, families, staff, community partners.
- Sound knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017, the child protection system, the Toronto area social service/children’s mental health system, the Criminal Judicial System and provisions available to victims/vulnerable witnesses and their families.
- Sound knowledge of overrepresentation of BIPOC children and youth in the child welfare system.
- Excellent interpersonal, team, and conflict resolution skills that incorporates inclusive leadership practices. Ability to carry and manage multiple priorities effectively.
