Our client is Canada’s leading psychiatry-based early intervention service for workplace mental health.  They offer part time contract with flexible independant hours to work within your schedule or add to your practice.

They offer psychiatry-based early intervention service for workplace mental health focusing on:

  • Rapid Access for Treatment for a Healthy Workplace.
  • Early Intervention for Later Stage Illness
  • Specialist Treatment for First Responders.

Our client is a dynamic organization that has launched an innovative platform to increase psychiatrists and family physicians to team up for prompt, effective treatment.

This is a unique early intervention model to help employees in the early stages of absence with a mental illness. This mental health initiative provides early identification and expedited treatment. The approach involves an assessment with direct communication between the psychiatrist and the family physician. The service has shown major reductions in duration of illnesses and decreased incidence of long-term disability.

Targeted Mental Health Assessment (TMHA)

Primary focus on treatment and recovery of employees with 4 categories:

  1. Confirmation of diagnosis
  2. Mental health history
  3. Actionable treatment plan
  4. RTW prospects and barriers

Conduct regular psychiatric consultation (1 hour) and contact the Family Physician regarding the treatment recommendations.

  • You are provided with focused medical information (case manager notes, attending physician statement, and one-page scoring results from self-rating scales) before the assessment.
  • You will contact patients in the early stages of mental illness. They sign a consent in advance to allow you to conduct the assessment and share the information with their family physician.
  • The reports are straightforward utilizing detailed templates.
  • You will contact the GP after completing the assessment, primarily to outline treatment recommendations. The call is critical to ensure treatment is conducted.
  • Total time required to conduct the assessment, prepare the report and speak to the family physician is approximately 2 hours. You send in the completed report within 5 business days of the appointment.
  • You will be supported by transcription service.
